Group Programs

Our group programs are innovative, collaborative, evidence-based and fun

We have a number of core aims across our group programs:

  • Achieving meaningful outcomes in a social setting
  • Building the capacity of our parents
  • Building networking opportunities for families

Each group will have a different therapy focus. We run a variety of group program models depending on the therapy outcomes we are aiming to achieve and the group of participants.

We may follow a very structured commercial program such as Hanen or S.O.S. or we may deliver programs through a semi-structured approach tailored specifically to the group of participants in the program. Both models can be fantastic ways to help you achieve your therapy outcomes. We’ll work with you to advise on which group programs may be suitable for your child.

Groups are typically run in ten-week blocks during the school term or alternatively as school holiday intensive programs.

The Food Scientists Group

The Food Scientists Group invites curious kids to explore the world of food science, cooking, and social mealtimes in a fun and supportive environment! This group blends hands-on cooking activities with opportunities to build communication and confidence around food.

Children will:

  • Engage in interactive cooking and food science experiments.
  • Discover the why behind food — learning about its properties, nutrition, and how it fuels our bodies.
  • Explore new flavours and textures in a relaxed, social setting. Build confidence in trying non-preferred foods through playful, supported exposure.
  • Through guided exploration and teamwork, participants will develop a positive relationship with food, strengthen social connections, and experience the joy of cooking and eating together.

This group aims to foster the development of essential oral motor skills while providing them the opportunity to participate in positive food exposures.
